The strapping stopper has made 71 appearances for Chelsea since joining from Saint-Etienne in 2014, but was limited to just 3 Premier League starts last season as he recovered from a serious knee ligament injury sustained against Manchester United in February 2016.
The 22-year-old will be hoping to get plenty of game time in the Potteries as he looks to break back into the France fold ahead of next summer’s World Cup in Russia.
