Marcelo's ban reduced.
The Spanish FA’s Competition Committee handed Marcelo a two-match ban following his red card against Levante on Saturday.
Real Madrid fought to reduce the suspension of the left-back, who has just signed a contract extension at the Bernabeu, and the appeal has been upheld by the relevant committee, downgrading his punishment to one game.
The Appeals Committee agreed to ‘consider the appeal partially’. The club will receive a 350-euro fine while Marcelo will have to pay 600 euros’.
The Brazilian will therefore only miss Sunday’s match against Real Sociedad at Anoeta, with Theo Hernandez stepping in to fill the gap.
