Brown Ideye was on target as Olympiakos continued their dominance in the Greek Super League with a 3-0 win over Athens rival Panathinaikos on Sunday evening.
Three first half goals handed Paulo Bento’s superiority over the Greens as they maintained a seven-point gap as league leaders with 21 points from eight games.
Alberto Botia put the Karaiskakis Stadium outift ahead with a header off Costas Fortounis’ corner in the 21st minute before Tarik Elyounoussi doubled the lead five minutes later.
Ideye was available to convert a Costas Fortounis’ free-kick with a header to secure the win in the 44th minute and was later replaced by Oscar Cardozo in the 90th minute.
The 28-year old striker leads the Greek Super League goalscorers chart with seven goals.
Meanwhile, Super Eagles defender Abdullahi Shehu was on target for Anorthosis in Cyprus as they struggled for their third win in ten league games.
Shehu scored his first league goal as he sealed the 3-0 vitctory over Doxa Katokopia with a 85th minute strike at the ‎Antonis Papadopoulos Stadium.
Anorthosis FC are placed seventh on the Cypriot first division table with 14 points from 10 games.
