Club Owners behind LMC —Danladi

THE Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) Club Owners Association has thrown its weight behind the decision of the League Management Company (LMC) to sanction some clubs for their misconduct during recent league matches.

LMC, it will be recalled, this week sanctioned  Kano Pillars, Katsina United, Remo Stars and the goalkeeper of Enyimba, Fatau Dauda as well as Rabiu Ali and Murtala Adamu of Kano Pillars for their unsporting behaviour.

Chairman of the body, Isaac Danladi, told Tribunesport through WhatsApp that the LMC acted in good faith.

Danladi appealed to the affected clubs to take the LMC verdict as it comes for the good of the game.

He further urged NPFL clubs and their supporters not to always see football as do or die affair.

“In football, you win some, you lose some. I don’t understand how a club that drew or won at away will now decide to go berserk when they lose at home.

“I think the clubs have a duty to educate their fans on the need to always play according to the rules. We cannot turn our league venues into war zones for visiting teams.

“Football is meant to be watched and enjoyed by fans and if this kind of crisis continues to happen at match venues, fans will soon stop going to stadia on match days and that will not be good for the image of our league,” Danladi stated.
