LMC pledges support for Benue flood victims

The League Management Company (LMC), organizers of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) have promised to support the victims of the recent devastating flood in Benue state, north central Nigeria.

Chairman of the LMC, Mallam Shehu Dikko stated this in Makurdi recently  when  football stakeholders from the North Central region paid a sympathy visit to the governor of Benue state, Samuel  Ortom at the government house.

The LMC boss who was represented by the Executive secretary of the Club Owners Association, Alloy Chukwuemeka, said the LMC, in conjunction with all the league partners and sponsors, would support the victims with cash and materials as part of its corporate social responsibilities.

He said that already the LMC was currently in partnership with the FIRS where players who won the weekly wonder goals award were encouraged to use part of the proceeds to support charity at IDPs and orphanages.

Dikko sympathized with the government and the people of Benue state over the tragic flood disaster even as he thanked the governor for his love for sports as well as his support for NPFL side, Lobi Stars.

Earlier Mr Suleiman Kwande and Barrister Isaac Danladi who spoke on behalf of the NFF and the Club owners respectively commiserated with the flood victims.
