Top Nigeria golfers from Ibadan Golf Club (IGC), Lekan Ogunbameru and Evelyn Oyome on Saturday qualify for this year Mauritius Open.
Both golfers qualified for the tournament through Coca-Cola Golf tournament organised at the Ibadan Golf Club last weekend.
Ogunbameru claimed the winner in the men’s category after he played a Net score of 66 while Oyome, Nigeria’s number one female golfer won the female top prize with the Net score of 72.
Four more golfers are expected to join both golfers from Abuja and Ikoyi Golf Club.
Speaking, both players promised to be good ambassadors of IGC and Nigeria in particular.

Oyome said, “This is a great opportunity for me to give my best at the international level and represent the country well at the Mauritius Open courtesy of Coca-Cola.”
Ogunbameru thanked the sponsor of the tournament (Coca-Cola) for giving them the return tickets which will help them showcase their talent in Mauritius.

Also, captain of Ibadan Golf Club, Olumide Oyediran lauded the organiser for bringing the tournament to IGC saying it’s a welcome development to the club.
“I am very glad that the organiser’s chose IGC, it’s a welcome development for us and we look forward to associating with Coca-Cola to continue to host this tournament (Coco-Cola golf tournament) here at IGC; and the opportunity for people to expand scope of golf by taking part in the Mauritius Pro-Am taking place in Mauritius every year.
