Conte gave me a boost —Moses

NIGERIA international, Victor Moses has revealed his admiration for Chelsea manager,  Antonio Conte and admits that he has been key to his fine form this season, claiming that the Italian manager didn’t want him to leave Stamford Bridge in the summer transfer window.

Moses who has been instrumental in helping the Blues’ with eight straight wins in the Premier League commended Conte for the huge role he played in convincing him to stay at Stamford Bridge.

The 2013 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) winner who has netted four times this season from his right wing back position was cautious of naming managers for his previous form, but believes Antonio Conte’s faith in him is paying off on the field whenever he gets an opportunity to play.

“Every manager is different. He came in and he saw something, he knew he could work with me,” Moses told Sport Magazine.

“During pre-season he came up to me and told me I was going to stay this season, that he didn’t want me to go anywhere on loan. That he believes in me. That gave me a boost, that gave me confidence to actually go out there and express myself more and work hard for it – to help him as well.

“I’m not here to criticise any manager.

“But I will say as a manager, if you have a player you feel is talented, it is important to give them a chance. Obviously, we have a new manager that came in, saw what I’ve got and he gave me the opportunity to go out there and express myself.”
