During that time, he has helped Real lift some silverware too, clinching La Liga and Supercopa de Espana titles in 2020 and also winning the Club World Cup in 2018. He was also recently awarded a commemorative jersey by president Florentino Perez after playing his 100th league game for the club.
On Monday the good news continued for Courtois with Real announcing he had penned fresh terms with the club. He is widely considered one of the best goalkeeper’s in the world, registering the best save percentage in La Liga last term.
Courtois’ extension aside, Real have had a quiet summer in terms of incomings. David Alaba is the only new arrival, signing on a free transfer after his Bayern Munich contract expired at the end of last season. However, Real have been boosted by the return of Gareth Bale and Luka Jovic from loan spells at Tottenham Hotspur and Eintracht Frankfurt respectively.

Meanwhile, his long-time centre-back partner Raphael Varane has signed for Manchester United. Brahim Diaz and Takefusa Kubo have left on loan, joining Milan and Mallorca respectively.
There could be further sales too as the club prepares for a busy 2022 transfer wise. Long-term targets Paul Pogba and Kylian Mbappe could both be available on free transfers ext summer, with Martin Odegaard one of the player’s in danger of being moved on to fund these moves.
