Cristiano Ronaldo extends Nike deal just days after sealing new Real Madrid contract

The 31-year-old announced his new deal with Real Madrid on Monday and has now confirmed he has extended his partnership with sportswear giant Nike

Cristiano Ronaldo has announced two deals in as many days after extending his long-term relationship with Nike.

The 31-year-old announced his new deal with Real Madrid – which runs until 2021 – on Monday and has now confirmed he has extended his partnership with the sportswear giant.

Speaking about his new deal with Nike, Ronaldo said: “I look at this new contract as [being] for life. I’m a member of the family but I have to say that Nike’s is the best, for me and my opinion.

“They do things that no-one [else] can do. I have a great relationship with this brand with great friends here in the company, specific people who work with me.

“This means a lot for me because I can give my feedback to them, they can listen to my opinions so we work as a family.

“They are very imaginative. They do, sometimes, surprises and I like surprises. It’s my brand.

“They are smart and know how to pick the best ones and I’m happy because I’m one of them.”

While the terms of Ronaldo’s deal with Nike have not been released, it is understood his new club contract will see him pocket around £400,000-a-week after tax.

Speaking about his future at the Bernabeu, Ronaldo added: “What I most want is to continue enjoying the years I have left to play. I still have 10 years.

“No-one knows what the future holds. I’m going to be here for another five years, but let it be known this will not be my last contract.

“I have said many times that I carry this club in my heart, it is part of me and it is a special time in my life.

“Of course I would like to end my career at this club. I want to be here for many years to come. I want to continue rewriting history at this club.”
