Dedevbo wants friendly for Falconets

The Falconets’ handler is hoping for test matches against the Nigeria Women topflight teams ahead their U20 Women’s World Cup campaign in Papua New Guinea

Nigeria U20 women coach Peter Dedevbo has proposed two friendly games against the country’s Women top flight’s Confluence Queens and Nasarawa Amazons ahead of this year’s Fifa U20 Women’s World Cup in Papua New Guinea.

Dedevbo, who spoke after watching his side defeat Abees Academy 4-3 in a friendly, believes the friendly matches will help expose and strengthen his side ahead of the age-grade tournament.

“I’m hoping we can get to play Confluence Queens and Nasarawa Amazons in next few days to help the integration and understanding of my players,” Dedevbo told Goal.

“We’ve have been working hard on the girls’ fitness, so they need friendly games to further blend in time for the World Cup.

“We have limited time and need to be more competitive as we hope to make a successful outing. The NFF are making efforts to secure our games and we hope we would be in good shape for the tournament,” he concluded.
