Dele Alli signs new six-year Tottenham Hotspur contract

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Dele Alli has signed a new contract to commit his future to the club until 2022.

It is Alli’s second new deal in seven months, after he agreed a five-and-half year contract worth roughly £25,000 per week in January, and he follows Christian Eriksen, Eric Dier, Harry Winks and Tom Carroll in committing to the club in the last fortnight.

The 20-year-old, who has extended his stay at Spurs by a year and increased his salary, said: “I can’t think of anywhere better with the fans, the manager, the team.”

Tottenham are close to announcing further deals for full-backs Kyle Walker and Danny Rose, and they are also in talks with Erik Lamela, Jan Vertonghen and Harry Kane.

Alli joined Spurs from MK Dons in summer 2015 and he has been a revelation for the North London club.

He finished his maiden season in the Premier League with 10 goals and nine assists, and established himself in the England team for Euro 2016 after opening his international account with a stunning strike against France in November.
