Eagles hold first W/Cup training on May 22

The Super Eagles will hold their first training session in Uyo on May 22, and this is the same date they are due to face Atlético de Madrid in a friendly organized by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and the League Management Company (LMC).

It remains unclear if the 30 players named in Nigeria’s World Cup roster will be considered for the match with the La Liga side as the Nigerian Federation informed the players’ foreign clubs to release the players for international games against DR Congo, England and Czech Republic, and the World Cup from 14th June to 15 July, 2018.

The invited players are expected to arrive at the Le Meridien Ibom Golf Resort, Uyo on May 21.

The team will depart Uyo for Port Harcourt on 26th May 2018 for the match against Democratic Republic of Congo on May 28 and then depart to London on 30th May for the match against England on June 2.

The trip to Austria from London is scheduled for June 3, to commence the final phase of the training camp and also the match against Czech Republic on June 6.

The Super Eagles will then depart Austria for Russia on June 11, 2018.
