… as Integrity Force, Invictus, Delta Force, Dolphins record opening wins
The much-anticipated Edo Men’s T20 Cricket League 2025/2026 season bowled off in grand style on Saturday, November 8, 2025, in Benin City.
Four teams — Integrity Force CC, Invictus CC, Delta Force CC, and Dolphins CC — got off to winning starts on the opening day.
At the Edo Boys High School Pitch, Integrity Force CC defeated U-17 Cricket Club by nine wickets.
The U-17s batted first and managed only 44 runs all out in 12.2 overs.
Integrity Force easily chased the target, scoring 48 runs for one wicket in just seven overs.
At the Iyoba Girls College Pitch, Invictus CC overpowered No Limit CC.
Invictus batted first, posting 71 runs in 15.2 overs before being bowled out.
No Limit CC struggled in reply, falling for 36 runs all out, giving Invictus a comfortable victory.
The U-17s returned for their second match but again fell short, this time against Delta Force CC.
Delta Force scored 58 runs all out in 16.4 overs, while the youngsters managed 45 runs, 13 runs short of the target.
The day’s final encounter between Dolphins CC and Crusaders CC ended dramatically after rain stopped play in the second innings.
Dolphins had earlier set a strong total of 122 runs all out in 20 overs.
With Crusaders on 7.3 overs into their innings before heavy rain, the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern (DLS) method was applied, awarding victory to Dolphins CC.
Speaking after the game, Dolphins coach Christopher Eboehi praised his players’ effort and expressed confidence in their title chances.
“I’m very happy with our win today. The boys played well and followed instructions. We made a few mistakes which we’ll correct before our next games.
“Our batting was superb. Going forward, we’ll improve our fielding. I’ve told my players we didn’t come just to compete — we came for the trophy,” he said
Action resumes on Sunday at both match venues from 9:00 a.m. as teams continue their push for early dominance in the league.
