Ekiti FC shines at Kwara South football fiesta 2025

Ekiti FC, Kwara state shines at Kwara South Football Fiesta with an outstanding performance that secured them the bragging rights as the current champions of Kwara South Football Fiesta.

On Sunday, June 8, 2025, Young Kwara Southerners gathered at Zeems Sports Arena, Offa for a display of unity, friendship and cultural value at the second edition of Kwara South Football Fiesta.

The second edition kicked off with a thrilling encounter between the defending champions, Ibolo FC and Igbomina FC, setting the tone for what would become a fiercely competitive fiesta. Ibolo FC managed to edge out Igbomina FC with a narrow 2-1 victory in a tightly contested match.

In the second game of the day, Ekiti FC stepped onto the pitch to face the confident Ibolo FC who had def and delivered a stunning performance. With sharp attacking play and solid defense, Ekiti FC secured a commanding 3-1 win, firmly establishing themselves as serious contenders for the title.

The final match saw Ekiti FC square off against Igbomina FC, and once again, Ekiti FC proved their dominance. They sealed the game with a 2-0 victory, leaving no doubt about who the champions of the second edition of Kwara South Football Fiesta is. With two emphatic wins, Ekiti FC walked away with undisputed bragging rights as the champions of the second edition of Kwara South Football Fiesta.

The second edition of Kwara South Football Fiesta had top dignitaries in attendance such as Mr. Tony Oyeyiola, Lead People Advisor (Middle East and Africa) at British Council; Mr. Suraj Ojewale (Jarus), the CEO of Jarus Homes and Investment Limited; Mr. Musbau Olaniyi, Babajiroro of Offa; Barr. Joseph Adewumi, Principal Partner at De’ Jadeville (Legal Practitioners and Consultants); Mr. Hammed Olawale Alabi, CEO of Hadji Mart Gram, Barr. Titilope Anifowoshe, Head of Programs/EA Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Citizenship Leadership, and many more.

Speaking after the game, the convener, Adetola A. Kehinde appreciates the players for their show of sportsmanship during the game. While congratulating the winners, Adetola noted that with the Kwara South Football Fiesta, we have witnessed expressions of love, brotherhood and zeal to foster community cohesion and sustainable development that defines us as Kwara Southerners.
