EPL GW33: Title race thrown open

  • It’s my fault —Conte
  • I beat league leaders not Chelsea —Mourinho

Chelsea’s lead at the top of the Premier League now stands at only four points and the title race is wide open again after they were well beaten by a resurgent Manchester United at Old Trafford.

Marcus Rashford put Manchester United ahead with a neat finish  in the 7th minute as Ander Herrera  added the second just five minutes after the break.

Indeed, Chelsea’s last six opponents are Southampton, Everton, Middlesbrough, West Brom, Watford and Sunderland.

In the corresponding games this season – 18 points, a 100 per cent record. And Chelsea can even afford to lose one, and still win the league, providing they win the other five.

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte after the game said Man United deserved to win.

“In this case, the fault is the coach. It is mine. In this case I wasn’t able to do the right motivation.

“Tottenham is in good form and playing with enthusiasm, we must find the same, he told Sky Sports”

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho told Match of the Day:  I’m really happy with the boys. I’m happy – not because it’s Chelsea, it’s because we need these three points.

“I don’t feel extra joy at beating Chelsea – we beat the leader. It doesn’t matter if the leader is Chelsea or another – we beat them convincingly. Nobody can doubt our credit to win the game.”
