I know what to expect against Klitschko —Joshua

Ahead of his much-anticipated fight against Wladimir Klitschko at Wembley, Anthony Joshua has insisted that fans want to see him go the distance.

The 27-year-old is training like never before as he prepares to meet the biggest challenge of his career to date in front of a sold-out Wembley on April 29.

And Joshua, who has won all 18 of his professional bouts by knockout and has never had to fight beyond the seventh round, knows Klitschko, 41, will represent a very different proposition.

And with just under two weeks to go until the big fight, Joshua claims that people want him to dig deep for his victories.

Joshua told Observer Magazine: ‘That’s what they want to see. They want to see me get battered for 11 rounds and come back.

‘They want to see how far you will dig to get your goal.’

With the highly-anticipated bout in London drawing ever closer, Joshua knows not to underestimate Klitschko, despite the Ukrainian being significantly older.

Klitschko has held all three world titles and only been defeated four times in 68 professional fights during a stellar boxing career.

Watford-born boxer Joshua was also quick to praise Klitschko’s positive mentality at his age.

‘It’s tough for me now and I’m younger. Imagine: I’m around people of his age, and I think to myself, they couldn’t do it,’ he said.

‘So I think to myself, I wonder what he’s doing. He must be in a place, mentally, where he wants to do it.’
