Victor Osimhen had incredible stats during the just-concluded 2025/2026 season, having scored 22 goals and provided 7 assists across all competitions in the 2025/26 season, in 33 appearances for Galatasaray.
In the Süper Lig alone, he registered 15 goals in 22 league matches, while in the Champions League, he scored 7 goals in 10 appearances, including a hat-trick against Ajax in the group phase.
That goal-scoring rate couple with his pressing, movement, aerial ability, and his never-give-up attitude on the pitch, make him a suitor for many clubs across Europe.
Turkish football analyst Mehmet Demirkol identified the issue from Galatasaray’s perspective best. “When Galatasaray doesn’t have both Osimhen and Barış Alper, it’s a problem. Serious problems arise during starts and pressures.”
Demirkol said. “You need to play something else.” A striker so central to a team’s entire tactical identity that his absence forces a philosophical rethink is, almost by definition, a top-five striker in the world.
Injuries, goals, interests
Osimhen suffered two injuries this season while on international duty.
The first came in September 2025, when Osimhen picked up a moderate ligament sprain with ankle bleeding during Nigeria’s World Cup qualifier against Rwanda.

Galatasaray sent a private jet to bring him back for treatment, and head coach Okan Buruk confirmed the injury caused him genuine pain ahead of their opening Champions League fixture against Eintracht Frankfurt.
The second injury arrived in November, when Osimhen was substituted at half-time of Nigeria’s World Cup playoff against DR Congo with a hamstring problem
Osimhen bounced back from those injuries and continued to produce a stellar performance through the season. The club have placed a €150 million valuation on Osimhen, and there is no release clause active in his contract, which runs until 2029. Chelsea have rekindled interest under incoming manager Xabi Alonso.
Barcelona and Real Madrid are eyeing the striker, while Atletico Madrid have also earmarked Osimhen as their primary target for the window, with Diego Simeone’s side facing the prospect of losing Julian Álvarez and regarding the Nigerian as the ideal profile to replace him.
Bayern Munich and Juventus have also been linked, according to transfer reports from March 2026.
Summer transfer window
The stats speak no lies, Osimhen remains one of the naturally gifted and best strikers in the world right now after he had incredible stats across all competitions throughout the 2025/2026 season.
He would absolutely make a good signing if clubs could afford him this summer.
