Everton set sights on Batshuayi

Everton are leading the race to land Michy Batshuayi from Chelsea but they will have to sign the player outright on deadline day.

The Goodison club already have Kurt Zouma on loan from Chelsea and Premier League rules state clubs can only loan one player from one club at any time.

Batshuayi is currently on loan at Valencia but the La Liga club are eager to offload the Belgian forward after a disappointing campaign so far.

It has now been reported that Everton are keen to bring in Batshuayi before the transfer window closes and hope to reach a deal with Chelsea, who value the 25-year-old at around £35million.

Premier League rivals West Ham are also said to be keen and they hope to sign the frontman on loan but Chelsea would prefer a permanent exit. As such, Everton are rated as the frontrunners in the battle for Batshuay’s signature if they can match the Stamford Bridge club’s asking price.
