FCT SWAN congratulates new NFF President, Ibrahim Gusau

The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) FCT chapter, has congratulated the newly-elected President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Alhaji Ibrahim Gusau, on his victory at the polls in Benin City, Edo State.

The Zamfara FA who was also the chairman or chairmen in the last NFF executive board defeated nine others to emerge as president. The sports writers also congratulated all the newly-elected board members on their emergence.

“Congratulations to our new NFF president and all the elected executive members of the board. Your victory came when we are celebrating our 62nd Independent celebration, that is a sign of good things to come.

“However, you deserve the position because you have paid your dues. We have no doubt that you will do well. We urge you to run an all inclusive government, work towards ending the crisis rocking the beautiful game and make development your priority.

“We also urge you to immediately set the ball rolling and take football to another height where the national teams will not only be ranked amongst the best in the world but also win laurels.

“We also congratulate President Muhammadu Buhari, Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, all the executive members and Nigerians across the world on the 62nd Independent Celebration of Nigeria, the chairman, FCT SWAN, Bunmi Haruna said in a statement signed by Chris Onokpegu, the association scribe.

Gusau, NFF’s 40th president, replaces Amaju Pinnick who held sway from 2014 to 2022.
