Nigeria’s D’Tigers on Tuesday crashed out of the ongoing maiden edition of FIBA AfroCan in Mali without recording a single victory.
The Ogoh Odaudumen bowed 80-84 to their counterparts from Algeria in a round of 16 game decided at the Palais des Sports Salamatou Maiga, Bamako.
Nigeria had prior to the match lost to Kenya 81-69 and the Democratic Republic of Congo 81-55.
However, the home-based D’Tigers won the first quarter against Algeria on Tuesday 21-15 but lost the second quarter, 22-24.
Nigeria managed to win the third quarter by a point 21-20 but ended the last quarter miserably as the Algerians made it 25-16 to secure a four-point lead at the end of the final whistle.

Abdul Yahaya emerged overall top performer in the match with 26 points, nine rebounds, three assists, five steals and one block, but his effort was not good enough to take D’Tigers to the quarter-final of the competition introduced mainly for home-based players.
Abdellah Hamdini emerged Algeria’s top performer with 24 points, seven rebounds, six assists, one steal and one block.
Meanwhile, Nigeria will be going for a classification game on Friday to know their final standing.
