Super Eagles and Napoli forward, Victor Osimhen, has been nominated for the 2023 Confederation of African Football (CAF) Men Player of the Year award.
This was contained in a statement made available on the official website of the African Football body on Wednesday.
The 2023 CAF Awards ceremony is scheduled for 11 December 2023 in Marrakech, Morocco.
Osimhen’s latest nomination comes just two days after he was ranked 8th on the Ballon d’Or men’s list, making him the highest-ranked Nigerian player ever.
Another Nigerian, Gift Orban, was nominated in the CAF Men’s Young Player of the Year category. The 21-year-old bagged the nomination after scoring 20 goals in all competitions last season for the Belgian Pro League team, KAA Gent.
