Gbenga Ogunbote on the brink of joining Enyimba

Goal have been informed that the former Shooting Stars gaffer has already agreed terms with Enyimba

Enyimba FC are set to name Gbenga Ogunbote as their new head coach ahead of the new NPFL season,

The seven-time Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) champions didn’t renew the contract of Paul Aigbogun after the below average performance of the team in the 2016 season.

A major reorganisation in the technical crew was necessary and the management of the People’s Elephants beat off competition from three elite clubs to get their man.

“Gbenga Ogunbote has already agreed terms with us and we are happy with his decision,” a top official at Enyimba told Goal.

“As we are speaking he is on his way to Aba.

“He is a hardworking man with vision and vast knowledge of the game. We can’t wait to have him at this great club.”

Ogunbote has managed Gateway United, Sunshine Stars, Sharks, Giwa FC and Shooting Stars in his coaching career.
