Go and conquer, Sis Serena charges Venus ahead Wimbledon final

SERENA Williams is backing older sister Venus Williams to keep the Wimbledon title in the family for another year when the 37-year-old takes on Spain’s Garbine Muguruza in the women’s final today.

Venus beat Johanna Konta on Thursday to reach her ninth Wimbledon final and Serena, who missed her title defence after becoming pregnant with her first child, believes her sibling can win a sixth All England Club crown.

“I have to believe that, and I know she has to believe that. We work so many years for these moments that she has right now, and I’m really happy for her,” the 23-time grand slam winner told Yahoo Sports.

“I’m proud of her, everyone is proud of her. She’s such an amazing person, and she’s so nice, and she’s been through a lot obviously, but we are always rooting for her.”

Meanwhile, seven-time winner, Roger Federer, spanked Czech Tomas Berdych in straight sets 7-6, 7-6, 6-4 to reach his 11th Wimbledon final. The Swiss who last won the title in 2012 is one win from a historic eighth Wimbledon title as he faces Croatia’s Marin Cilic, who stopped Sam Querrey 6-7, 6-4, 7-6, 7-5 on the Centre Court tomorrow.
