The national U-17 male football team, the Golden Eaglets, have stepped up their preparations for WAFU B U-17 tourney by defeating high-flying Tripple 44 FC 3-1 at Old Parade Ground, Abuja on Thursday.
The high-flying Tripple 44 team who are preparing for a European tour of Germany and Sweden have been on a run of 30 games without a defeat before facing the Eaglets, who dented their records.
In a keenly-contested battle, the Nigerian cadet team showed grit, flair and solidity to stop their opponents from extending their unbeaten run to 31.
The Ibadan-based team was recently involved in successful transfer of Olawale Peter, a member of 2019 set of Golden Eaglets who played at the U17 World Cup in Brazil and Emmanuel Adeyemo who currently plies his trade with the Portuguese outfit FC Vizela.
Adeyemo was scouted in 2019 by Vizela scouting team and was offered a 4-year contract. Peter and Adeyemo are just few among other transfer of players to Europe by the Ibadan-based club.
Tripple 44 FC management believe that their trip to Europe will not only expose the players but also help secure contract with European clubs.
