As part of effort to promote the game of golf in the country, Smokin Hills Golf Resorts Ilara-Mokin, will host over 300 golfers for the founder’s tournament in honour of Chief Michael Ade-Ojo (OON).
The tournament which has five million naira as the star prize for the best golfer on the hole 13 in the two-day tournament is to being put together to celebrate the business magnate and founder of Elizade University 81st birthday.

According to Marketing and Promotions Manager, Smokin Hills Golf Resorts Ilara-Mokin, Prince Bayo Aderinto said the event is expected to bring together Captains of industries, businessmen and notable personalities to Ilara-Mokin, Ondo state the birthplace of their founder, Chief Ade-Ojo.
He said “As a prelude to the event a group of selected golf professionals from all over the country would tee-off by 8.00 a.m on Friday, June 14, 2019 while other invited amateur golfers are expected to arrive by 12noon on that day and be treated to Ilara-Mokin hospitality. Thereafter, there would be a practice round of golf for participants to sharpen their skills in preparation for the main event which holds the next day.
“On Saturday, June 15, the tournament would tee off by 7.00am according to the draw as amateur men and ladies take to the endearing topography of Smokin Hills while the closing ceremony hold the same day.
“It is noteworthy to mention that Toyota (Nigeria) Limited in its characteristic manner will be sponsoring the hole 13 with Five Million naira (N5M) only worth of golf items as the Hole–in–One prize.

“As we speak, drones of golf enthusiasts from all over the country have registered for the tournament which promises to leave an enduring golfing experience that will be hard to miss.
Meanwhile Ondo State governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, is also expected at the occasion as the Special guest of honour.
