Harry Kane realistic on title hopes

Tottenham striker Harry Kane admits they must be at the top of their game in 2018-19 to beat Manchester City to the title.

Spurs claimed their third successive top-three finish last season but they never looked like mounting a challenge to eventual winners City.

The Citizens set a whole host of new Premier League records as they reached a century of points and finished 19 clear of second-placed Manchester United.

Pep Guardiola has continued to enhance his squad this summer with the addition of Riyad Mahrez and many expect City to be the frontrunners once again.

Kane insists Spurs will just focus on their own game but conceded it will take something very special to finish top of the pile.

“It will take a very good season (to challenge Manchester City) but we’ve been up there for the last few years now,” he told Sky Sports News.

“City had an amazing year last year but the Premier League is tough and it doesn’t always happen like that to go year on year so we’ve just got to focus on ourselves and see what we can do.”

Tottenham begin the new campaign away at Newcastle and punters using their free bet may want to back them to get off to a winning start.
