The House of Representatives Committee on Sports has extended an invitation to top officials of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) on a peace parley which will hold on Tuesday, August 15, at the National Assembly Complex, Abuja.
A statement signed by the media Committee to Chairman, House Committee on Sports, Honourable Ekene Adams Abubakar and made available to Tribune Online, said the meeting is necessary in view of the disunity being witnessed in the NFF and which is not portraying the image of the football house in good light at the global stage.Â
The statement added that the meeting will serve as an avenue to reposition the NFF “as an epitome of peace and excellence to Nigeria and the African continent.”
“Considering the need for mutual co-operation, unity, peace and a sense of belonging, I wish to humbly request your presence at this crucial meeting to align with the Nigerian Football Federation in order to reach a common ground to achieve a renewed policy direction for the Nigeria Football Federation anchored on peace and unity.
“Due to the disunity evident in recent times that has disrupted the image of the Nigeria Football Federation in Nigeria and the global stage, I hereby wish to forge a common ground for a mutual understanding and tranquility for the Nigerian Football Federation.
“I implore you to come on board as we embark on this journey to reposition the Nigeria Football Federation as an epitome of peace and excellence to Nigeria and the African continent. The committee will be profoundly honored to have your esteemed presence at the meeting.”
