I have no sympathy for Hazard over Madrid woes – Toni Kroos

Toni Kroos recently stated that he does not sympathize with his Real Madrid teammate Eden Hazard regarding his playing time, explaining that there are individuals in worse situations than the Belgian forward.

Since joining Real Madrid for a massive sum in 2019, Hazard has faced struggles with form, fitness, and playing time, having only played 98 minutes of La Liga football this season without contributing to any goals or assists.

In a recent interview with RTBF, Hazard expressed his disappointment with his lack of game time, expressing his desire to play and have fun on the field.

Hazard hopes that he can still make a contribution to the team and that the coach still counts on him, although he is unsure if he will play again this season.

In contrast, Kroos does not have sympathy for Hazard’s situation, telling Eleven Belgium that football is not a place for pity.

Kroos believes that Eden does not have a bad life and that one should only feel sorry for those who are in much worse situations.

“Compassion is out of place in football. I don’t think Eden has a bad life,” he told Belgian broadcaster Eleven Sports.

“You can sympathise with people who are having a clearly worse time. It’s not about money, I just don’t feel sorry for anyone in football.

“Of course, the situation has been difficult for a long time, but after all, everyone is responsible for their own situation to some extent.

“That’s why I think pity is misplaced. I know Eden very well, we talk often, but I only sympathise with people who are in very bad situations and Eden is not one of them.“
