I love Nigeria, England ―Abraham

IF the words of Tammy Abraham as of Wednesday night could be anything to go by, he could ignore the call-up from England and play for Nigeria.

The Chelsea forward was among the players England handed call-ups alongside his team-mate, Fikayo Tomori, on Thursday for the Euro 2020 qualifiers on October 11 in Prague against Czech Republic and on October 14 against Bulgaria.

Abraham, speaking after scoring in Chelsea’s 2-1 victory over Lille, in the Champions League had reiterated that he loved his fatherland and England, meaning that he might choose to shun the latter’s call-up to remain eligible for Nigeria.

“I love both nations. To be wanted by both nations, clearly I’m doing something right on the pitch for Chelsea. I just have to keep going. My time will come.

“I’m not sure, I haven’t made a decision yet. I’m just focusing on the club now,” Abraham had maintained before Gareth Southgate released the list of players for England’s next two games.

Meanwhile, Abraham took to the social media where he acknowledged his call-up to the The Three Lions, but kept mum as to whether he will honour the invitation.

The lanky forward through @tammyabraham tweeted that: “Always proud to get the @England call up. Congrats boys.”
