I will fight Wilder after I get rid of Fury, says Usyk

Reigning WBA, WBO and IBF world heavyweight champion, Oleksandr Usyk, has told Deontay Wilder that he will indeed face him after he takes on Tyson Fury.

Usyk twice floored former champion, Anthony Joshua, to take hold of those three belts, and is now seeking the final piece of his undisputed puzzle.

Usyk was previously undisputed WBA, WBC, IBF and WBO champion at cruiserweight.

Since moving up to heavyweight, he’s made it clear that his goal is to repeat the feat.

Therefore, he and his team are targeting a showdown with WBC champion Fury in early 2023.

The Gypsy King is first set to take on Derek Chisora in a trilogy bout on December 3, live on talkSPORT.

Should he get through this unscathed as expected, Usyk awaits.

The Ukrainian has now reassured him that this will indeed be the case.

Usyk told ESNEWS: “After I get rid of Tyson Fury, then we’re gonna talk to Deontay Wilder.”

But Usyk’s assistant coach Sergey Lapin has suggested Wilder isn’t as technically good as the man in his corner: “This guy is very simple. He goes out and hits and he has a very strong punch. He compensates for his lack of technique.”
