Ibrahimovic breaks Serie A record but Milan suffer defeat to Udinese

Despite becoming the oldest scorer in Serie A history at the age of 41, Zlatan Ibrahimovic had little to celebrate as AC Milan suffered a 3-1 defeat to Udinese on Saturday, extending their winless streak to three matches in the Italian league.

Roberto Pereyra, Beto, and Kingsley Ehizibue scored for Udinese, with Pereyra opening the scoring after Lazar Samardzic intercepted a poor pass from Milan midfielder Ismael Bennacer.

Ibrahimovic momentarily equalized with a penalty that was retaken for encroachment after his first effort was saved, breaking the previous record for the oldest scorer held by Alessandro Costacurta.

Despite advancing to the Champions League quarterfinals with a 1-0 aggregate win over Tottenham, Milan’s recent Serie A form has been poor, with a loss to Fiorentina and a draw with Salernitana preceding this defeat.

The result leaves Milan in fourth place and at risk of losing their hold on the final Champions League spot, while Udinese moves up to eighth.

In other matches, Bologna was held to a 2-2 draw at Salernitana, while Monza and Cremonese drew 1-1.
