Ibrahimovic is hoping to win another Champions League, in order to finish his career at the highest level in a fitting manner. His current injury hasn’t dampened his desire to carry on playing at the highest level and he is believed to have offered his services to Real Madrid, in return for a reasonable salary of course.
Reports in England believe that the Swedish international made the first move in contacting Florentino Perez to see if the Bernabeu-based side would be interested in the former United man.
Ibrahimovic wouldn’t be available for selection until the season was well unerway due to his knee ligament injury, but he believes that he could carry out Alvaro Morata’s role perfectly, acting as foil for Cristiano Ronaldo and Karima Benzema in attack.
The move, were it to happen, would be a major one and not only because Imbrahimovic is a former Barcelona player. The image of Ronaldo (should he stay) and Ibrahiovic leading the line for Real together would be like something straight out of a video game.
The arrival of another striker would leave Real free to sell Alvaro Morata, should they wish to do so, with Manchester United said to be leading his list of suitors.
Perez is understood to be considering the proposal, given that Morata has made his desire to leave the club clear this summer, letting him go and bringing in Ibrahimovic is an interesting prospect for Perez. However it remains to be seen if Zinedine Zidane would sign off on the move, given the question marks over Ibrahimovic’s age and current injury and the Frenchman’s well-established desire for stability within his squad.
