Nigeria striker Odion Ighalo on Wednesday night in Cairo ended his Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) campaign with a goal to remain the leading scorer of the tournament with five goals.
The Shanghai Greenland Shenhua of China player, Ighalo, scored the Super Eagles only goal in the third minute of the AFCON 2019 third place clash with the Carthage Eagles of Tunisia at Al Salam Stadium.
The former Watford forward only featured for 44 minutes before he begged to be substituted after he sustained an injury via a rough tackle from a Tunisian player.
Ighalo, is contending with Senegal Sadio Mane and Riyad Mahrez and Adams Ounas both of Algeria who have three goals each.

The fifth contender for the Golden Boot award, Cederic Bakambu also with three goals is already out of the race following the exit of DR Congo right in the round of 16 stage.
Ighalo will thus pray for the trio of Mane, Mahrez and Ounas to fire blank tomorrow when Senegal face Algeria in the final of the tournament.
It would be recalled that the late Rashidi Yekini won the 1994 AFCON Golden Boot in Tunisia with five goals, while Emmanuel Emenike achieved the same feat in 2013 in South Africa with four goals.
