Nigerian international forward, Kelechi Iheanacho is set to join another English Premier League side, West Ham Unitd after limited playing time at Manchester City this past season, reports scorenigeria.com.
Media reports said the starlet is set to join the London side on a permanent deal for a fee of £24 million.
According to Skysport, Iheanacho will undergo a medical any time from now to finalise the transfer after the Citizens accepted the bid by ‘The Hammers’.
Should the deal go through, it will make Iheanacho, 20, the most expensive Nigerian star as it will outdo the £20 million Chinese club, Changchun Yatai paid Watford FC for striker Odion Ighalo.
Iheanacho came through the City youth programme, but this season his playing time has been limited following the arrival of manager Pep Guardiola and thereafter Brazil striker, Gabriel Jesus.
Last season, the 2013 FIFA U-17 World Cup winner and Most Valuable Player flourished under Manuel Pellegrini in his breakthrough campaign and he was duly rewarded with a contract extension.
However, Iheanacho struggled for game time this past season under Guardiola causing speculations about the player’s future at The Etihad.
Iheanacho is currently in the Super Eagles camp in France for the two friendlies against Corsica and Togo scheduled for June 3.
