Imo FA suspends board member Ekeocha for misconduct

The executive committee of the Imo Football Association has announced the immediate suspension of Chief Sunny Ndubuisi Ekeocha from the board over misconduct for six months.

Ekeocha is an executive board member of Imo FA representing Owerri zone.

Chairman of Imo Football Association, Ifeanyi Dike made the disclosure after an emergency meeting of the board at the Dan Anyiam Stadium Owerri on Tuesday.

According to the board, Ekeocha’s action ran foul of the statutes adding that was suspended to serve as a deterrent against further abuse of football governing rules.

He said: “By the suspension, Ekeocha stands suspended from all Imo football activities for six months, after which it will be subject to deliberations.”

The board equally announced Andrew Onyedikachi Ihedibu as the new football Administrator for Ezinihitte Mbaise local government area of Imo state with immediate effect.

Ihedibu replaced Johnny Nwadioha and he is expected to improve football activities within the Ezinihitte Mbaise council area.

FA Chairman Dike called on Ihedibu to partner with people and organisations to promote football in the state.
