International break harmful for Watford ―Kabasele

Watford defender Christian Kabasele feels the international break has come at the wrong time for the in-form Hornets.

The Vicarage Road outfit fought back from a goal down to defeat Spurs 2-1 at the weekend ahead of the international break.

Kabasele concedes Watford would have preferred to have had a chance to continue their 100 per cent start to the Premier League season, but he feels a break may also be beneficial ahead of Manchester United’s visit on September 15.

He told the club’s official website: “We need to keep this spirit, because – the manager said this as well in the pre-match talk – we can beat anybody, but we can also lose against anybody. So, we need to keep going.”

He added: “We wanted maybe one game more [before the break], or two games more, but it’s okay – we have a lot of confidence.

“We are going to use this week to rest well, because the four games were really demanding.

“After that I hope the players that went to their national teams will be back fit and fresh to start again, because we have Manchester United, Fulham, Tottenham again in the League Cup and Arsenal, so September will be a very tough month.”
