JOSE MOURINHO turned a blind eye to Marcos Rojo’s horror tackle and Marouane Fellaini handing Everton a point by giving away a late penalty.
But the Manchester United boss stayed short-sighted on his side’s long-term problems despite being held to a draw by the Toffees.
It means United have now won just two of their last 11 games and they are 13 points behind Premier League leaders Chelsea.
Rojo should have seen red for an early two-footed lunge on Idrissa Gueye before Zlatan Ibrahimovic put United ahead before the break.
But Fellaini chopped down Gueye in the area to give Leighton Baines the chance to level from the spot in the 89th minute.
When asked about Rojo’s tackle, Mourinho said: “I didn’t see.”
And when questioned if he should blame Fellaini for his side only leaving Goodison Park with a draw, he said: “I didn’t see.”
But Mourinho believes he seen enough from his team to warrant more than a point.
And he also appeared to say that his former club Chelsea are getting praised for playing more effective football than the stylish game he believes United are playing.
He said: “When my team are playing pragmatic football and winning matches and winning titles, you say it is not right and nice.
“When my teams play very, very well, there is a huge change in relation. Now you say what matters is to get a result.
“At the moment teams are getting results, defending with 11 players, keeping the ball and playing on the counter-attack.
“Yet you praise them. You have to make a decision.”
Everton boss Ronald Koeman refused to hit out at referee Michael Oliver despite Rojo’s dangerous tackle on his midfielder Gueye.
He said: “It’s difficult with the tackle. Maybe if the ref watched it back it would be red card but it’s a tough decision for him in that situation.”
