Jurgen Klopp: This is what I really think about my Liverpool squad

JURGEN KLOPP says he is “completely fine” with his Liverpool squad after a summer revamp.

Klopp spent just under £70m on six new faces while a similar figure was generated from a host of player sales.

The German was disappointed by some aspects of his first campaign at Liverpool but believes he now has the right characters in the dressing room.

Klopp told Liverpool’s YouTube channel: “I’m completely fine with my squad this year, I really like it.

“Good characters, good attitude and all the rest you have to develop.

“I saw a lot of things last season where I thought ‘ok, come on’.

“You cannot do more than try, you can buy a guarantee.”

Klopp revealed that part of his transfer strategy is based on a player’s attitude and character.

When asked if he signs players he likes, Klopp said: “Like in a specific way of course, they have to fit in a team, that’s how it is.

“We are so often, so long in the day together, it’s based on sense, you always think ‘oh my god what a footballer but please’.

“First of all it’s all about football skills, abilities, but it’s very complex.

“But at the end you have to accept you can never do what everybody wants, I learned that pretty quickly.”
