Knecht drops 37 against Utah Jazz

Los Angeles Lakers rookie, Dalton Knecht put on a show against Utah Jazz in the Emirates NBA Cup as the Lakers secured a home-ground win on Tuesday.

The Lakers clinched a 124-118 win over the Jazz at Crypto.com Arena, with their first draft pick Dalton Knecht leading the way with 37 points, including a 9-for-12 from three. LeBron James also added 26 points and 14 rebounds, grabbing a double-double in points and assists for the Lakers.

Los Angeles went on to improve their season record, going 10-4 this season, and 2-0 in the Emirates NBA Cup. They opened the game with a 10-2 run, Dalton Knecht shooting 2 threes, fueling the run. Utah Jazz missed four shots and gave two turnovers to the Lakers during this run.

The Lakers led the first quarter 34-22, having 58.3 % from the field, Anthony Davis, LeBron James, and Dalton Knecht fueling their team during that quarter.

The Lakers continued to extend their lead, going on an 8-0 run and dominating the game, Reaves shooting a three assisted by James, and Utah missing 5 straight shots. At Halftime, the Lakers were very much in control with a 57-44 lead, going up by 13 points after a 10-2 run to close the half. Los Angeles shot 54.8% from field goals, LeBron James grabbed 6 points and 4 assists, and Anthony Davis also recorded 12 points and 10 rebounds.

The Utah Jazz went on a 12-4 run in the third quarter, cutting the Lakers lead to 11, before Dalton Knecht went on a crazy run, shooting 4 consecutive three-pointers, three of them from the same spot and making 8 out of 9 three attempts made.

The Lakers led 97-75 at the end of the third quarter, Dalton Knecht led the way with 33 points, shooting 8-to-9 from threes. Los Angeles shot 59.3% and had 91.7% of assists made in the third quarter. LeBron contributed 10 assists.

The Lakers closed the game at 124-118, Dalton Knecht led the score chart with 37 points and 9 out of 12 three attempts made, LeBron James recorded 26 points and 12 assists, while Anthony Davis got a double-double, also recording 26 points and 14 rebounds.
