Barrister Seyi Akinwunmi, NFF 1st Vice President and chairman Western Nigeria Football Forum (WNFF)presenting HOS Football Forum male trophy to the Deputy Governor, Lagos State, Obafemi Hamzat during the visit of the MOC of the festival Tuesday in Lagos.
Lagos State government has pledged it’s support for the maiden edition of the Western Nigeria Football Forum (WNFF) Heads Of Service Football Festival.
Giving the assurance on Tuesday was the Deputy Governor of Lagos State Engineer Obafemi Hamzat during the courtesy call on him in his office by the leadership of WNFF and Main Organising Committee for the Football Festival.
The Deputy Governor having commended the initiative said that he wants to see football in the south west return to its glorious days of IICC and Leventis United.
Speaking further, Hamzat said the State is ready for the games and expressed confidence that the Football Festival will foster unity among the South Western States and also boost tourism.

In his speech, the NFF 1st Vice President, Barrister Seyi Akinwunmi thanked the Deputy Governor for taking time out of his busy schedule to host the WNFF and the MOC explained that the HOS Football Festival is designed to serve as a model for sport development not only in the zone but in the country.
He added that the idea behind the Festival was to boost cordial relationship between the states in the zone and help in the development of the game.
Lagos State Head of Service, Muri Okunola who was represented by the permanent secretary, HOS Office, Mr Samson Ajibade assured the committee of the readiness of the State to participate at the festival, adding that the present administration is always willing to go along with positive ideas that will not only boost tourism but impact the wellbeing of the civil servants of the State.
