The Los Angeles Lakers have confirmed that forward LeBron James will be sidelined for at least three weeks due to a right foot tendon injury.
James missed Tuesday’s game against the Memphis Grizzlies with what was initially described as right foot soreness.
He sustained the injury during the Lakers’ win against the Dallas Mavericks on Sunday, in which he played 37 minutes and helped Los Angeles rally from a 27-point deficit.

The Lakers won the game, but James was seen leaving the arena with a pronounced limp. James leads the Lakers in scoring with an average of 29.5 points per game and has been vocal about the team’s playoff hopes this season.
The Lakers are currently in 11th place in the Western Conference, one game behind the 10th-place team and two games behind the seventh-place team.
The top six teams in each conference are guaranteed playoff berths.
With James out for most of the remaining games of the regular season, the Lakers will face a tough challenge to secure a playoff spot.
