Libyan club mistreated me ―Egwuekwe

Former Super Eagles defender, Azubuike Egwuekwe, has declared that his stint with Al Nasr Benhhazi of Libya was a sad episode saying that he can’t advise even his enemy to play for a Libyan side.

Egwuekwe who joined Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) side Rivers United on a one year deal after ending his tie with the Libyan side.

The 30-year-old previously who had brief spell with Finnish side, KuPs, and South Africa Premier League club, SuperSport United said the Club treated players poorly.

The defender revealed he struggled to get his salary and other entitlements after months of service for the Club.

“I will never advise any player to go and play football in Libya”

“I can’t even advise my enemies to go there, in fact, I thank God for bringing me home safely.

“Whenever I ask for my money, they kept saying in ten days’ time, till one day when we got to Egypt and they gave me and other Nigerian players $10,000 and asked us to leave.”

Egwuekwe then added that he decided to return home to get his career back on track with Rivers United.
