The attacker believes his side deserve to rub shoulders with the best teams on the continent.
Lobi Stars deserve to play continental football, says attacking midfielder Namen Imenger after his side’s 1-0 win over Enyimba on Sunday in a Match Day 34 fixture of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).
The Ortom boys continued their charge towards continental qualification with the win that saw them climb two places into fourth place on the log.
Imenger praised Lobi Stars’ teamwork on the day, as they heaped more misery on the out of sorts defending champions.
“I think we did well today (Sunday), especially without the ball,” Imenger told Goal.
“We were aggressive, won the ball back quickly and kept possession, which is good for us.
“Lobi Stars is a club that should be playing continental football.
“Football is a game of possibilities. We have the squad capable of picking any of the tickets to play in African club competitions in 2017.
“That means we have to redouble our efforts in our remaining matches.”
