Super Eagles forward, Ademola Lookman, has stirred speculation about his future at Atalanta after unfollowing the club on Instagram days after a touchline dispute with head coach Ivan Juric.
The incident happened during Atalanta’s 1–0 win over Olympique Marseille on Wednesday when Lookman reacted angrily after being substituted in the 75th minute.
Television footage showed Juric grabbing Lookman’s arm as they exchanged words before staff intervened to calm the situation.
Juric later played down the clash, saying such moments were part of the game’s emotions.
“It happens often. Players get upset when they’re taken off. We discussed it after the match and moved on. The team and fans come first,” the coach said.
At a press briefing on Saturday, Juric again dismissed any tension, describing the matter as resolved.
“These things are normal. We talked and cleared the air. Ademola is passionate. Everything is fine now,” he said.
By Saturday, Lookman had unfollowed Atalanta and removed all posts related to the club from his Instagram account.
It is not the first time he has taken such action.
Last summer, he unfollowed the club and missed pre-season training after Atalanta blocked his proposed €50 million transfer to Inter Milan.
With the January transfer window drawing closer, speculation has grown that Lookman could push for another move.
The 28-year-old played a key role in Atalanta’s Europa League win last season but has struggled to find similar form this term.
