Makinde redeems N5m pledge to late Balogun’s family

Oyo State governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde on Wednesday redeemed his pledge to the family of the late Shootings Stars Sports Club (3SC) General Manager, Mr Rasheed Balogun who died early this year.

The Chairman of the Club, Honourable Babatunde Olaniyan who represent the governor alongside acting General Manager, Dimeji Lawal presented a cheque of N5m to the children of the deceased at the 3SC office, Jericho, Ibadan.

According to Olaniyan, the governor approved the money in appreciation of Balogun’s contribution and illustrious service to the progress and growth of the club, which was under his charge for about seven years.

“The late Balogun was named the General Manager of the club in 2013, a position he held till his demise in January 2022.

“We note that under him, 3SC recorded many success with the recent one being the promotion of the club from Nigeria National League (NNL) to Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL), after spending four years in lower cadre.”

Speaking on behalf of the family, Rasak Balogun thanked Governor Makinde, 3SC management and staff of the club for their support and fulfilling his promised to the family.

“We are very grateful to Governor Makinde for redeeming his pledge, we are very happy and wish him success in his next ambition.”
