Mamadou Sakho hits out at Liverpool exile: The fans deserve to know the truth!

MAMADOU SAKHO has spoken out about his Anfield exile.

The French defender has not played a minute of football for Liverpool this season after failing to take Jurgen Klopp’s advice and leave the club on loan during the summer.

His prospects of returning to the first-team fold look bleak at best and Sakho wants his situation to be made clear to the public.

The 26-year-old posted on social media: “Now it’s 3 weeks since I am fit to play games. I finish all my rehabilitation work. They don’t want me to play also with second team lol! Why I don’t know.”

“Still working hard like Scouse Soldier! Still not talking cos I want speak on pitch.. I will speak soon for the people who support me and don’t understand the situation.

“Still happy to live in my “Liverpool Country” with my family, hope to have chance to play soon to give my best like I try to do always!

“I accept my situation but I can’t accept the lie… The fans deserve to know the truth! Thanks for your support.”

Klopp admitted this week that Sakho is a long way off from returning to his Liverpool squad.

The German boss said: “He is still working on his fitness.

“He is closer, but there is a big difference between match fitness and everything.

“It is not about how the player feels, it is about close I feel he is.

“It is a long, long time since he played and all the other players have not had a long break so it makes more sense if we use them.”
