Man U fans mock Ronaldo

Manchester United fans on Wednesday night mocked Cristiano Ronaldo for his brash goal celebration during their 2-1 victory over Juventus in the Champions League.

The Portuguese forward gave his side the lead with a stunning volleyed finish during the first half and proceeded to celebrate by pulling up his shirt and pointing to six-pack.

However, Ronaldo’s joy was not to last as a late Juan Mata free-kick and a messy own goal from Alex Sandro saw Jose Mourinho’s men steal the three points at the death.

And United fans had not forgotten their former player’s celebration as they celebrated the win, taking to social media to stress how foolish he now looks.

“Juan Mata showing Ronaldo that abs don’t win you games,” one tweeted while another joked that he was “too busy counting his abs” to be interviewed after the game.

Others shared GIFs of the likes of Mourinho and Thierry Henry laughing in reference to Ronaldo’s moment of vanity as one supporter said that United had just “taught him that seven turned upside down is actually L”.

The former Real Madrid man was clearly frustrated following his side’s defeat, insisting they should have won by a big margin.

The 33-year-old said: “I was happy for the goal but we are a little disappointed because we should have won the game easily, by three or four goals.”

“Manchester, they didn’t do much in my opinion they created two chances (from) set pieces.

“I know the English teams, they are always looking for the set pieces, but we learned from our mistakes and we are still top of the group so we are good.”

The win sees United move up into second on seven points, while Juventus sit at the top of the Group H table with nine points.
