Manchester City to make improved bid for Sanchez

According to the ‘Daily Mail’, Manchester City will make an improved £70m offer for Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez.

The Gunners rejected a £50m bid from City on Tuesday evening but are starting to soften their stance on a deal for the Chilean.

Arsenal were hoping for a player-plus-cash offer, possibly including Raheem Sterling, but it is understood that Pep Guardiola’s side are committed to a cash-only deal.

The decision to let Sanchez leaves comes after a meeting between Arsene Wenger and his coaching staff following the humiliating 4-0 loss to Liverpool last weekend.

Arsene Wenger will let the players who clearly want out of the North London club leave before Thursday evening’s transfer deadline.

With Sanchez entering the final year of his Emirates contract, this is likely to be the last chance for Arsenal to make a sizeable profit on the man they signed from Barcelona for £35m in 2014.
