There are clear indications that mass exodus of players will soon hit Enyimba Football Club of Aba just as the management of the club may sack its head coach; Paul Aigbogun.
This is as a result of his inability to win any trophy for the team season. The team lost 0-1 to Nasarawa United in the second semi-final of the 2016 Federation Cup played last weekend at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Ibadan.
Information filtered through in shortly after the team failed to book a place in the final of this year’s Federation Cup scheduled to hold in Lagos at a yet to be fixed date.
Tribunesport reliably gathered that the management was waiting for the outcome of last Saturday’s match before it would take decision and “since it did go as planned having failed to win the league shield and now it’s obvious there is no continental assignment for the club, hence its decision to lay off some players and the coach,” the source said.
When contacted, Aigbogun declined any knowledge of such development, but quickly added that nothing is impossible.
“I am not aware of such development, but then in football, anything can happen,” he said.
