Messi makes Griezmann plea

Lionel Messi has publicly urged Antoine Griezmann to move to Barcelona amid talk the Atletico Madrid ace is set for Camp Nou.

Griezmann is widely expected to leave Atleti this summer after helping them secure second place in La Liga and firing them to glory in the Europa League.

The France international has been heavily linked with Barca and now Messi has made it clear he wants the forward at Camp Nou this summer.

He said: “It’s obvious that I like Griezmann, he’s one of the best players in the world right now.”

Messi was asked if he knew if there was any truth in the speculation linking the 27-year-old with Barcelona but he just reaffirmed the fact he would want him as a team-mate for the 2018-19 campaign.

Messi added: “I don’t know if there’s any [substance], but it delights us when the best players come here and Griezmann is one of them.”
